Amtrak trains are getting a ghost trains schedule after a train derailed near New York City, New Jersey, killing eight people.
A federal grand jury is investigating the accident and is reportedly considering criminal charges.
According to the Associated Press, a train carrying passengers on the Northeast Corridor between Washington, D.C., and Boston derailed Monday, killing seven and injuring 34.
The Amtrak train was traveling at a high speed at about 85 mph, with a maximum speed of 125 mph, according to the AP.
Amtrak is investigating what caused the derailment, and the NTSB said it will begin a full investigation into the accident.
Amtrak says it has issued alerts for train movements for the next 24 hours, and has begun providing additional safety information to passengers and crew.
