It started with a single dog walker leaving a dog agility academy.
Then, two months later, Austin Police Department Chief Art Acevedo said a man in his 20s told him he had a dog that needed help.
He called police and reported the animal’s owner, who said Acevedos daughter had gone to meet her dog and was attacked.
Acevedi said the man told him the dog had been left unattended by an owner who left it alone.
The dog was taken to a veterinary clinic for surgery.
Acevei said his dog was “fine.”
The dog is now on its way back to Acevedis home in Austin, and the dog training program is moving to a new location in the Dallas area.ABC News’ Mark Sanchez and The Associated Press contributed to this report.
